We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods safely and on time to various destinations, maintaining accurate delivery records, and ensuring the vehicle is well-maintained and compliant with road safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate company trucks to transport goods and materials to assigned locations.

  • Inspect vehicles before and after trips and report any mechanical issues.

  • Follow delivery schedules and routes as assigned.

  • Ensure cargo is secured properly and delivered in good condition.

  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle servicing.

  • Comply with all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies.

  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members.

  • Handle emergency roadside situations when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license (appropriate for truck category – e.g., Class A, B, or C).

  • Proven experience as a truck driver or in a similar role.

  • Clean driving record and strong understanding of road safety regulations.

  • Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy goods if required.

  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of GPS and electronic logging devices (ELD).

  • Certification in defensive driving or other safety courses.

Tasks

  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Professionalism in customer service
  • Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations
  • Load and unload goods
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
