Responsibilities
Tasks
- Stock refrigerators and salad bars
- Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
- Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash
- Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
- Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients under the supervision of kitchen staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and sanitizing equipment.
- Assist with food storage and inventory management, including rotation and labeling of products.
- Support kitchen staff during peak hours by performing tasks such as food plating, garnishing, and portioning.
- Dispose of waste and recycling according to established procedures.
- Follow proper food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure food quality.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen.
- Perform other duties as assigned by kitchen management.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
