Key Responsibilities:
- Surveillance & Monitoring:
- Monitor security cameras and alarm systems to detect any suspicious activities or breaches of security.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises (both interior and exterior) to ensure a safe environment and deter potential security threats.
- Watch for signs of illegal activity, unauthorized access, or safety hazards, and take appropriate action to address them.
- Access Control:
- Control access to the facility by verifying identification and screening individuals entering the premises.
- Ensure that only authorized personnel and visitors are allowed entry, and maintain accurate records of visitor logs.
- Lock and unlock doors or gates at designated times to secure and manage building access.
- Emergency Response & Incident Reporting:
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, or intrusions.
- Provide assistance during evacuations or other emergency procedures, ensuring the safety of all individuals.
- Write clear, detailed reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities, and submit them to management as required.
- Contact law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary and cooperate during investigations.
- Enforcing Policies & Procedures:
- Enforce the facility’s security policies and procedures, including those related to parking, building access, and visitor management.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed, and report any unsafe conditions or potential threats to the appropriate personnel.
- Customer Service:
- Greet and assist employees, visitors, and contractors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Provide directions or assistance when necessary and act as a visible, approachable presence to create a sense of safety for everyone on-site.
- Patrol & Inspection:
- Inspect buildings, parking lots, and other areas of the property to identify and resolve security or safety issues (e.g., unlocked doors, broken gates, or hazardous conditions).
- Report and document any suspicious or abnormal activities encountered during patrols.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Security Guard or in a similar security role is preferred, but not required.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to stay alert and focused for extended periods.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
- Knowledge of security operations, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) for reporting and interacting with individuals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical fitness, as the role may require standing for long periods, walking, or performing security patrols.
- Basic computer skills for logging activities and incident reports.
- Ability to remain discreet and handle confidential information appropriately.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Security guard training or certification (e.g., SIA, PSIRA, or other local certification requirements) may be required, or willingness to complete necessary training.
- CPR and first aid certification is a plus.
Work Environment:
- The role may involve working indoors or outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Shifts may vary, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on the facility’s hours of operation.
- The ability to stand, walk, or remain stationary for extended periods is required.
