Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist carpenters with measuring, cutting, and shaping wood, plastic, and other materials according to project specifications.
  2. Transport materials, tools, and equipment to job sites and help set up work areas.
  3. Hold or secure materials and assist with assembly, installation, and framing of structures, cabinets, doors, and windows.
  4. Clean and prepare work areas, including removing debris, sweeping floors, and organizing tools and supplies.
  5. Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively under the guidance of experienced carpenters.
  6. Perform basic carpentry tasks such as sanding, staining, painting, and sealing surfaces.
  7. Assist with demolition, removal, and disposal of old structures or materials as needed.
  8. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  9. Learn and develop carpentry skills through on-the-job training and mentorship from experienced carpenters.
  10. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.

Tasks

  • Load, unload and transport construction materials
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Previous experience in construction or carpentry preferred but not required.
  3. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools and a willingness to learn new skills.
  4. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
  5. Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  6. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to work as part of a team.
  7. Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  8. Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments.
  9. Safety-conscious mindset and commitment to adhering to safety protocols.
