Responsibilities:
- Safely operate and drive various types of trucks to transport cargo over short or long distances.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, securing it properly using straps, ropes, or other securement methods.
- Plan routes, using GPS or navigation systems, and adjust routes based on traffic or weather conditions.
- Follow all state and federal driving regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate driving logs and records of deliveries, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers using communication devices.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues with the vehicle promptly.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience (X years) as a Truck Driver or a similar role in the transportation industry.
- Ability to operate and drive various types of trucks and handle different cargo loads.
- Strong knowledge of driving safety procedures and traffic laws.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.

Tasks
- Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Perform emergency roadside repairs
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
