Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize industrial equipment, machinery, floors, walls, and other surfaces using specialized cleaning equipment and solutions.
- Handle and operate heavy-duty cleaning machinery, such as power washers, industrial vacuums, and floor scrubbers, efficiently and safely.
- Remove debris, spills, and other waste materials from designated areas, ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
- Dispose of hazardous materials following proper procedures and guidelines.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper functionality.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during cleaning activities.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and report maintenance issues or repair needs.
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Heavy Duty Cleaner or in a similar role within industrial or commercial settings.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment, techniques, and safety procedures.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and operate heavy machinery.
- Adherence to safety protocols and understanding of hazardous materials handling.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in industrial cleaning or occupational health and safety are advantageous.

Tasks
- Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs
- Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse
- Empty trash cans and other waste containers
- Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings
- Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
- Perform minor repairs on appliances
- Perform safety and security checks
- Supervise other workers
- Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
- Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures
- Work with minimal supervision
- Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
